Executive Director

amanda sweikow

Amanda Sweikow is a cinema-maker, nonprofit leader, curator, and community builder with decades of experience supporting filmmakers and building programs around independent cinema. As Executive Director of Filmmakers Alliance, she oversaw organizational operations, programming, partnerships, communications, fiscal sponsorship, grants, filmmaker development, and community initiatives, working directly with hundreds of filmmakers and shepherding projects from development through production. Her broader career spans film production, artist education, curation, writing, and directing, giving her a deep understanding of both the creative process and the infrastructure artists need to sustain their work. As co-founder and Executive Director of I Am Cinema, Amanda brings that experience to building a new kind of cinematic culture—one centered on personal vision, artistic risk, craft, community, and meaningful connection between artists and audiences.
