I AM CINEMA's film programs both rethink and reimagine what a supportive, educational, inspiring, inclusive community-based filmmaker nonprofit can be all about. We're not settling for what other film nonprofits traditionally offer. We're building and expanding on what has come before and taking it to the next level.
For starters, we have no limitations on who we are here to serve and support. Like other film nonprofits, we're devoted to developing and supporting the original voices of emerging writers and directors. We're intensely interested in supporting the creative self-liberation that comes with an investigation into personal, one of a kind cinema both in terms of narrative design and visual / aural design.
With the descent of AI and regular attacks on personal speech, don't you think it's time to up your game?

I AM CINEMA believes that filmmaking is a collaborative art form. Not to get too cute, but it takes a community of artists to make a singular, standout film. In addition to writers and directors, I AM CINEMA's filmmaker programs are designed to welcome and encourage the participation of all divisions of filmmaking - actors, cinematographers, composers, creative producers, editors, production designers and sound designers and frankly anyone who believes in our mission of putting what is cinematic first!
And this includes fostering and educating an active, excited general audience of film enthusiasts too.
After all, we cannot just make our films and expect an audience to be there for us. We have to earn the audience. We have to enlighten and encourage our audience to join with us and to have final say over what we have created.

I AM CINEMA presents regular, film clip based, audience interactive seminars on the BIG screen and online that address every aspect of cinematic creation. We believe in fostering a more comprehensive and artistic understanding of all the components that come together to create the full spectrum of cinematic experience - cinematography, color orchestration, editing, mise-en-scene (composition), performance, production design, sound design, writing and everything else in between!
I am cinema - PROJECT Fiscal Sponsorship
The I AM CINEMA Fiscal Sponsorship Program provides filmmakers with the nonprofit infrastructure needed to seek tax-deductible donations while joining a community committed to preserving cinema as a vital art form.
i am cinema - WRITERS LABS
The I AM CINEMA Writers Labs are development programs for writers who want to strengthen their personal voice and explore the possibilities of cinematic storytelling.
Our labs are designed to meet writers at different stages of the process. You may be starting with the earliest spark of an idea and figuring out what you want to write. You may already have a short screenplay you want to develop. Or you may have completed a feature screenplay and be ready to dig deeper into the work.

The I AM CINEMA Artist-to-Artist Program is a cross-disciplinary mentorship initiative connecting emerging filmmakers with experienced working professionals committed to personal vision cinema.
